Shopify Default product page is great, although getting ShineOn input fields and functions to work with it can be tricky.
In this guide, I'll show you how to switch to ShineOn product page and how to enable your products input fields (useful for personalizations)
Here is the Github Page I mention in the video, though you can just copy & paste the words from this guide.
Sections and Templates
On Shopify admin dashboard, go to Online Store > Themes > Edit Code
From the editor, go to sections on the left side and select Add a new section.
For the file name, enter:
shineon-starter
After saving shineon-starter.liquid, go to templates and do the same thing for cart & product. Make sure that for the templates, you select .JSON
Then the same for product
Customize
Now that shineon-starter is enabled, we need to make sure it is configured properly. This is necessary, as there may be issues such as two product pages being enabled simultaneously.
To check this, we'll need to customize our theme:
From here, go to your Home Page > Products > shineon-starter > choose a product
Once you've chosen a product, look to Template, on the left side, and hide Product Information.
After Product information is hidden (this is your default Shopify product page), we need to enable the ShineOn Product Page by adding it as a block.
After ShineOn Product Page is installed and saved, preview a product to make sure it worked.
