How To Hide Upsells & Package Protection

Shopify uses a 'closed-cart' system. Because of this, In order to make sure upsells and package protection work correctly, upsell products need to appear as separate products in your store.

If you currently have a collection on your store which references all products in your store, then up-sell products will appear there, making them available to purchase as stand-alone products. This can become a problem as it is not possible for us to fulfill upsell only items.

To fix this, please complete the following steps to hide ShineOn add-on upsells from your collection pages.

Step 1

• In Shopify admin, go to Products. Make a note of the all product titles of the upsells that are appearing in your collection. You will need these for later.
• The below image is an example, there may be more or less depending on your store. Be sure to review which items exactly are appearing in your collection first.

• go to Products > Collections

• Click Create Collection button at the left corner of the page.

• Create a new Collection by setting the title to All

• Set collection conditions to filter out the products based on the upsell product titles you collected earlier.

• Here is a list of all upsells, for convenience and copy/paste purposes.

  • Package Protection
  • Love Knot Stud Earrings
  • Red Cubic Zirconia Earrings
  • Cubic Zirconia Earrings
  • Gift Bag Kit
  • Gift Wrap with Personalized Message
  • Paper Flower Bouquet
  • Rose Petals

Click save, and you're done! If you'd like, you can change the collection name to Products. This comes down to preference.
