What is the Artwork Designer? 

Artwork Designer is a tool built into the ShineOn app in order to save time and bring convenience to users. With how quickly a creative flow can come and go, our goal with Artwork Designer is to help retain and kindle that creativity from within the ShineOn app itself. 

Need to make a minor tweak or adjustment to your design? Do so while the thought is still fresh, with Artwork Designer. 


How can I use it? 

Artwork Designer is currently available to use on Message card jewelry, Acrylics, Mugs, Accessories & most Home Decor products

• To use the Artwork Designer, simply select a compatible product and choose Open artwork designer to begin creating.

• You should then see the designer/editor webpage

On the right side, you should see the following 9 tabs: 

• Upload
• Layers
• Designs
• Elements
• Text
• Background
• Border
• Art
• Messages

An option to preview your current design with a mock-up and to save your design are on the top left.

• Save & Continue 

Upload

You have the option to upload a base design (optional). Select + Add file to upload

• Once your file is uploaded, you'll see a small preview of the file on the top left. You can upload multiple files and switch between them by clicking the previews.

Layers

Any element added to your design will create a new layer here. You can hide a layer with the eye button, lock a layer's details with the lock button, or delete a layer with the trash button. Additionally, the top layer will have priority (show over other layers); you can drag a layer up or down, even when locked, to give or take away priority. 




Designs

Designs lets you upload & create different artwork for different variants. Our Mugs, for example, have 11oz & 15oz variants. 

• To add a different design, first, you'll need to unselect the variant you'd like to use a different design with. Go to Designs > 2 variants (in this case for the mug) > deselect 15oz

• After this, press Save then find + Add alternate design > 15oz > + Add

• Going back to the Upload tab, you can upload your secondary artwork on Alternate Design 1
  
  

Elements

Elements are made of different shapes and lines you can add to your design. Simply select an element and drag it to your desired location. 





Text

Text offers different phrases & quotes you can add to your design. Same as elements, select any text & drag it to the desired location. 

• As a tip: Some texts come in 2 or more different columns. Hold CTRL and select both columns to select both of them together. This will let you drag them both at the same time. 
• The Group feature will add both columns to a single layer, whereas ungrouped would be 2 different layers. 

Background

If you don't have a base design to upload, the Background tab is a good place to start, followed by Border. Background gives you a base to work off of when adding text & elements. 

• To make sure your background is behind everything, (doesn't cover anything that may already be on your design) make sure it's the bottom layer. 

Border

A border can make your design look more professional & fancy; adding artwork to the border of your canvas, surrounding your design with more than just a blank edge. 





Art

Like the other options mentioned, this tab lets you select artwork and drag it to your desired location. 

• Depending on your background, you may want to select darker artwork, so it doesn't blend in. Select Dark to view darker artwork.

Messages

Messages give you meat for your potatoes! A cute message makes your product all the more personal for the one receiving it. This tab has many popular messages for you to add to your design; select, drag & drop where ever you like! 

• Switch between Title or Body for your messages. 
  
  • Title: To my...
  • Body: O how I... Forever and ever... 

• Don't forget to switch to Dark if you need to.

Preview

Preview gives you a mock-up example of what your design would look like with jewelry in front of the message card. This is helpful to check if everything is positioned correctly. 





Save & continue

When you've finished editing your design, proceed by selecting Save & continue 

• Once saved, you'll be asked to confirm your design. If you want to make a change, select the Edit option, if it looks good, select Confirm

• If you want to make changes afterward, simply choose the Artwork Designer again and your design will still be saved with your previous edits.
