Including designs with each order.
When creating a product using the Partners sales channel (API / CSV), you'll be presented with the following option.
Choosing I will include designs on my SKUs is a much simpler way of creating products for use with CSV ordering/API use - as you simply upload your artwork here and are given a product SKU for you to use. The artwork is included in the SKU itself and is unique to that combination of artwork and product. However, this method grants access to a smaller catalog of products. (You can find out more about how this works here)
If you want access to a larger choice of products, or would simply prefer to for technical reasons, you will need to select the first option entitled, I will include designs with each order. This option requires that you provide your artwork to us for each individual order. This is done by sending us a URL to the product artwork via a line item.
Creating the product.
When creating a product under this option, you will not see the usual option to upload the artwork. Instead, you will be presented with a basic editor which allows you to change the name of the product and not much else.
The artwork shown on the product is placeholder artwork and will not show on the final product.
Once you have edited this and published the product, you will be taken to the product editor. A note here explains the requirement of including the line_item_print_url item on your CSV.
Understanding the min spec sheet.
When sending orders to us via the CSV sheet, the SKU you send to us is for the product type without the design. This is located at the bottom of the product editor, underneath the renders.
On the right side of the page, you will see two links to example CSV files.
Downloading one and opening it will show you the line_item_print_url location in the sheet, and the line_item_sku.
Line_item_print_url is where you must include a URL link to the artwork when this sheet is filled out and submitted to us. Leaving this field blank or not including a working URL to download the artwork will result in the orders not entering production.
You may upload your artwork using a reliable host. Links must be to direct .jpg or .png files.
Line_item_sku is where you include the SKU of the product type.
For more information about CSV ordering in general, check out the quick-start guide.
Similarly, these are the headings that need to be used when submitting requests to us via the API.
Generating renders.
Scrolling further down the page will take you to this area.
Clicking the Preview Renders button will allow you to upload your own artwork, which will populate the product photos with renders of your product. These can then be used for your own website.
You can do this as many times as you wish to generate renders for multiple products.
