Direct Integration
Congratulations! If this is your first ShineOn account, you may want to integrate it with Shopify, as Shopify is the only platform that directly integrates with your ShineOn account.
This will make sure each order is automatically synced to your account, and the same for products created on our app. To learn how to connect Shopify and ShineOn, see our guide on Connecting the Shopify App.
API and Manual Ordering
Your store may already be setup somewhere other than Shopify, or you'd like to set up a third party integration instead.
Whether you're set up through third party integration, like with Teeinblue for example, or you create Manual Orders for a store that's not integrated, these options both require you to switch to your Partner/Special Orders sales channel. You can switch sales channels on the top left, from your Dashboard
Creating a product
With your ShineOn account, it's now time to start Creating and editing products! With this guide, you can create your first product on the top right, with Add product
You may want to look through Our Products - Catalog Overview, and see which products match your taste.
With our Starter tier or higher, you can create products with personalization capability through the app. Third party integrations will allow you to personalize products while on our free tier, like Anywhere POD or CedCommerce.
For Etsy merchants who are manual ordering, you should be able to create your products in your Special Orders sales channel, then copy over the mock-ups and descriptions to create your Etsy listing.
Additionally, ShineOn offers a course called Etsy Profits. With this, you can learn the essentials of setting up and optimizing your Etsy store, ensuring a rapid start to your sales journey. Discover strategies to optimize your listings for Etsy's search algorithm and differentiate your ShineOn products through personalization.

Shipping Profile
For Shopify stores, you'll need to set up your shipping profile before selling. You should see How to set up Shipping in Shopify (Beginners) for standard shipping, and How to set up priority shipping (Shopify), for priority.
Priority shipping requires Side-Hustle or above in order to work.
For Etsy merchants, please see our Production and Shipping timescales for accurate rates.
Taxes
The fun part! Fortunately, this is easier than it sounds and looks. Many products sold in the US require merchants to collect sales tax from consumers, remit those sales taxes to various government taxing authorities, and maintain proper and detailed record keeping.
As a business, ShineOn must keep comprehensive records for each merchant, including up-to-date resale certificates for merchants that buy wholesale from ShineOn. This resale certificate informs us if sellers are whole sellers, and thus do not need to be charged sales taxes by us.
If these tax forms aren't filled out by you, the seller, then ShineOn will need to subtract sales taxes from your orders. If these forms are filled out, then you pay the sales tax yourself, depending on the location of the order, rather than ShineOn's own tax deduction.
You can learn more with US Taxes and Reseller Certificates
For additional tax inquires, please see this page: Tax & VAT
Advertising
ShineOn support isn't able to offer advertising advice, but we do have a guide for Advertising with Meta Pixel - Which would help to set up before you start selling.
I personally advise having at least an Instagram account, with posts of Samples you may have ordered, or Sample Kits with your store's designs. Tagging is great for publicity there.
This page full of helpful resources would be good to look through at this point. From top-selling message cards, phrases and products, to guides for the holidays and more!
Additionally, we have a course for Dirt Simple Ads. Which includes extensive lessons for setting up and optimizing digital marketing accounts, focusing on platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Google Ads.

First Order
This is a great feeling, but it doesn't come without its questions and concerns. We want to give you as many resources for knowing the in and outs of your order as possible.
Here is The Life Cycle of an Order.
- Your customer buys from your storefront
- The order is sent to your Shopify orders, and the customer's funds to your chosen payment method.
- The order is then synced to the ShineOn app, through direct integration or a third party integration. (For third party integrations, please check your Special orders sales channel for the order) For manual orders, once the order is placed by the customer, it would need to be recreated in your Special orders sales channel at this point.
- Once you see the order in the ShineOn app, if everything is correct and risk-free, it will say, "Awaiting payment"
- Now is when the wholesale price for the item and shipping is paid. With your ShineOn payment method of choice, select the box next to your order, then, Pay Selected. You can also set up autopay, which assures no orders are forgotten or late: Payments, profits, and invoicing.
-
Once the order is paid, it will enter a queue for Production. After production, the package is taken by the courier to your customer. UPS for Standard, FedEx for Priority, and SpringGDS for products that ship from our facility in Germany.
These two pages prove helpful at this time.
If an order fails to sync from Shopify, please see this guide, Why aren't my Shopify orders syncing? - Duplicating the order and marking the duplication as paid may get the order to sync.
If you're not integrated directly, you may want to check your API Key is entered correctly within which ever app you're integrated with.
Returns Remakes and Refunds
This information is important and helpful to know, for you and your customers. Please see the following pages for more details:
In summary, if an order is lost in transit, incorrect or damaged on arrival, we allow that order to be remade and shipped free of charge.
Merchants send us the SHINE-ID, which is the order ID, and we pay and process the remake ourselves. Here is an example of the SHINE-ID:
You can reach us at support@shineon.com or find us in Live Chat, for real-time assistance. We do not give refunds or accept returns, however, we will give ShineCash on occasion.
Cancel an Order
Here is how to cancel an order within your Special Orders sales channel.
-
Firstly, find the order you'd like to cancel. On the right side of the order, you should see a drop-down menu called Actions. Select this and go to Resolve a Problem
- Then, find Cancel Order and select Cancel
If your order is synced from Shopify, here is how to cancel it. Cancellation of orders.
We hope you enjoy your ShineOn account!
