Etsy orders not syncing?
In order to make sure that everything runs smoothly when using our Etsy integration, there are a couple of things you need to avoid.
If you have discovered that Etsy orders are not coming through correctly, please check this guide first, to rule out the more common issues.
Duplicating products within Etsy.
If you create a product using your ShineOn account, and then duplicate that product within Etsy, if a sale has been made on that duplicated product the order will not be communicated back to your ShineOn account.
This is because the back-end system that powers the integration will only "listen" for orders on products that have been created via your ShineOn account.
Adding or removing variants within Etsy.
Similar to the previous issue. If you have modified a product within Etsy to add or remove a variant, sales on those variants or their modifications willnot be communicated back to your ShineOn account.
Again, the back-end system that powers the integration will only "listen" for orders on modifications that have been created via your ShineOn account.
Products created via Shopify integration.
Before we launched our own direct Etsy integration, it was possible for sellers to use our Shopify app and third-party integration tools to connect their shopify products and orders to Etsy using Shopify as an intermediary.
Sales on these products will not be communicated back to your ShineOn account via direct Etsy integration.
If you have previously used this method and would like to switch to our direct Etsy integration, you will need to use new listings which have been created via direct Etsy integration. There is no other workaround at this time.
The golden rule.
The number 1 rule to avoid simple mistakes and orders not syncing is to make sure that you are using your ShineOn account to manage your product listings.
Everything from product creation, or adding and changing variants needs to be handled via your ShineOn account.
I've made one of these mistakes, what now?
If you have made one of these mistakes, it is likely you have some orders on your Etsy store which now need to be fulfilled.
The first thing you need to do is fix your product listings, revert changes to variants, or delete listings which have not been created via direct Etsy Integration. This is to make sure you get no further problem orders.
Fortunately in these instances, you do not need to contact support. You will need to create a new ShineOn account, and place manual orders.
If you have Shopify integration set up, It is possible to create a manual order, using Shopify Integration. You do not need to set up a new ShineOn account for this method.
Manual orders can be created using Shopify's basic plan, once you have set up your Shopify and connected our Shopify app, you can use the information from your Etsy order to place an order to the customer.
Please note that it isn't possible for our support team to place manual orders on your behalf at this time.
