Customization of products published to Etsy.
Providing customization options on your products for customers works a little differently on Etsy compared to the other sales channels.
Right now, there is no fully automated process to handle customization of products such as engravings, custom message cards, or image uploads for artwork swapper.
Due to the way Etsy works, orders that are customized will need to have the customization manually added to the order by you.
Check the option on Etsy.
First of all, you will need to have created a draft listing using direct Etsy integration.
Once that has been done:
From your Etsy dashboard, click Listings
Access your draft listings.
Go to the product you want to add customization for, and click it to edit it.
Scroll down to"Personalization"and switch it on.
Write in the instructions to buyers on what they should write in the box, for example what engraving they want on the product, or other instructions on how to get their requests to you.
If the customer needs to upload an image to you, they will need to message your store to send the image. Customers should choose “message seller about something else” and send the photo using the “add an image” icon. On the Etsy app, there will be a “contact the shop” button on the purchases page.
Next, depending on if your customization is an engraving or an image like a buyer upload or a message card, the process is slightly different

Switching on personalization on Etsy in the previous step is super important because it tells our systems to automatically place orders for those products on hold, so you can be given the opportunity to add the customization.
This little trick can be used for all kinds of customization on your products. Including buyer upload images for products that support it. Or using Artwork swapper to swap out and customize message cards.
To enable artwork swapper for a product, you can click More Actions > Enable Artwork Swapper.
If a product requires engraving, but personalization isn't turned on, it will also be automatically placed on hold, with the alert "invalid personalization" given.
For this next part, the process is the same as resolving other common problems with Etsy orders. You will need to use the Resolve a Problem tool.
