Etsy integration is one of our most popular ways to sell! Here's some common questions sellers are asking about it.
- What are the charges?
- Can I import my Existing products?
- How does shipping and tracking work?
- How do personalizations work?
What are the charges?
Our Etsy integration is free to use, we don't charge anything for using it.
Etsy charge you for every listing you publish. When we create your product in Etsy, it'll be a draft, to allow you to make any changes to it, and choose when to publish it and accept the listing fee.
The base costs we charge are the same as when selling via Shopify or Platform. You can view these costs in the Inventory page on your ShineOn account.
Shipping costs are also the same as our other sales channels.
Creating Products
Our Etsy integration is a separate sales channel within your ShineOn account. This means your products from other stores, such as Shopify or CSV, cannot be immediately transferred to your Etsy store.
Instead you will simply be creating new products from within our Etsy integration. This ensures the product publishing will work properly by Etsy's requirements, and we can sync new orders reliably.
Shipping & Tracking
When an order is paid to us, it'll enter production and take the same amount of time as any other order.
Once shipped, we'll update the Etsy order to be marked as completed and upload the tracking number.
We charge our standard shipping rates for Etsy orders (check Shipping FAQ)
IOSS/GB VAT codes are automatically placed on every package we send to Europe, so you don't need to worry if Etsy notify you about this.
Etsy doesn't support multiple tracking numbers for a single order. If an order ships in more than one package, we'll update the Etsy tracking number to the most recently shipped package.
Personalizations
Etsy does not have many options for capturing personalizations, such as photos or engraving text, from customers when placing their order.
You will setup your product on Etsy to display a single text box, where you can ask your customer to write in their requested engraving text or birthstone option.
Once the order is placed, and syncs to ShineOn, the order will go on hold. You will then add the personalizations from the customer to the order, releasing it for invoicing & production.
If the customer didn't provide a personalization, or they requested something invalid, you'll need to message them to clarify their request.
You can do all of this via the Resolve a problem tool. Check out the guide here.
